The Darkness Within now available!

The new horror anthology
The Darkness Within!
Available Now!
Okay, I'm not going to make excuses. I've just been very lazy lately. And the holiday-season did not help with me finding the time to write a blog post. And I'm not going to make a New Year's Resolution about blogging more. Honestly, I hope we are past that. I do wish you all the best of health and a lot of reading/writing pleasure in 2013!

AND... I do have something extremely nice for you to start the year off with! Some time ago I send my short, short story The Faces of the Dead (1600 words) in to this little publishing house called Indigo Mosaic and it was accepted for the horror anthology THE DARKNESS WITHIN. Recently I received the cover art, so now I can show you what it looks like. Also, as of today...

...IT IS NOW AVAILABLE ON AMAZON!

Woohoo! So I beg of you all (I'm on my knees, pictures available on request) to have a quick look and get your card out! Here, I'll send you the link: The Darkness Within on Amazon!

As the title already gives away The Darkness Within deals with the horror that lurks in the darkness within. It could be in a house, a person or even a ping-pong ball (as it stated in the submission call), but the darkness within is an ever-present force in our lives and invokes some real feelings of dread and horror. That's what attracted me in the submission call in the first place and it's why I URGE you to check it out now!

Indigo Mosaic is a small but determined publishing house with some great upcoming projects in the speculative range (sci-fi, horror, fantasy). For 2013 they have 4 anthologies planned to be published and the first closing date is on the 30th of January. The rest is later on in the year. As a writer, I URGE you to check it out. Might be a nice way to get your story out there.

So, there we have it, my first post of 2013 and it's already a good one! I'm sure 2013 will bring us all lots of success and happiness.

Keep writing,

Marcel

The Wait is over: Night Gypsy is out now!

Look, my name is in there!
I know I may be preaching to the choir, since I'm sure all of you already pre-ordered this after my previous post (of course you did!), but....

Woohoo! The Night Gypsy: Journey into Darkness anthology which features two (2!) of my stories is out as of this week! It is available on Amazon (click! click! click it now!)

Beside my own contributions it will feature some of the latest and best in horror literature from Australia, Holland and the US. The overall theme of the anthology will be the descend into homicidal madness, since long a favorite theme of horror writers everywhere (Lucy Comes to Stay... by Robert Bloch, anyone?)

But it's not just for horror buffs. The tagline mentions 'suspense, drama and horror'. Even drama and suspense afficionados will get their fill.

I would highly suggest you check it out! You don't want to miss some of the up and coming authors of this moment. And while you do, hit the Like-button on the Facebook-page.

Indie Gypsy, the publisher of the aforementioned anthology, is a small publishing company with a wide variety of movie, music and literature projects in production, but that's just the way they like it! The tastes of the editors are plenty and wide, ranging from literature to cooking, so there will always be something interesting going on. Have a look at what they're all about at www.indiegypsy.com.

So, ahem, so far for the shameless self-promotion, but I'm very excited about this!

Marcel

Ps. Seriously, check it out...

WTF Movie of the Week: John Dies at the End!

Watch the trailer!
Buy the book!
Okay, probably not an indie flick, but already one of the most anticipated movies of 2012 (at least by me) is the comic book adaptation of John Dies at the End. Originally appearing as a web comic by David Wong, it's now also available through Amazon. AND... as a movie in 2012, starring Chase Williamson and Clancy Brown.

The idea is that two guys take a highly suspect drug which seriously alters the way they see the world, but also unleash certain paranormal forces from another dimension. Dave, 'our hero' and his friend John do their best to stop the evil forces, but, honestly, their not really hero-material.

If this strikes you as lame or far-fetched, please have a look at the trailer and remember... here at Floating Robes we honour the truly creative writer. This is something no-one has ever done before and probably never will again.

Official Site

Enjoy!

Marcel
